Subject: Pre-Harvest Workshop, Best Student Paper Award

Pre-Harvest Workshop.

A pre-harvest workshop is scheduled for Monday, August 5, White Hall Vineyards, 10:00 am-4:30 pm. This program will be conducted by myself and two colleagues, Lisa Van de Water, Director, The Wine Lab, Napa, CA and Pacific Rim Enology Services, Blenheim, New Zealand, and Richard Cary, President of Vitis Research.

Pre-registration is required. The Workshop fee is $30 per person, which includes lunch, payable at the door. Send me an email message at bzoeckle@vt.edu with the word Pre-harvest in the subject line.

Pre-registration deadline is Monday, July 29.

This practically-oriented, one-day program will include the following topics:

Best Student Paper Award.

Congratulations to Emily Hodson, MS candidate in the Enology-Grape Chemistry Group, for receiving the Enology Best Student Paper Award at the recently concluded meeting of the American Society for Enology and Viticulture, Eastern Section meeting. Her presentation was titled "Effect of Delestage on Merlot Wine Quality."
